02 interpretive centre

brief: Although the existing People's Palace on the Green displays a brief history of Glasgow, a more interactive approach is required. The brief required a small interpretive centre to include a multimedia presentation space, VDU's, administration and a small cafe/bar.

site: Glasgow Green has served as one of city's primary public spaces for almost 800 years. Located close to the city centre and alongside the River Clyde it has played a strong part in the history of Glasgow.

design:

The design would be a striking addition to this mediocre landscape with its three distinct volumes of timber&glass, aluminum and orange render, in connection with a 50metre long wall of timber.
