Hole in my Pocket are a Scottish duo who have been involved in a number of diverse projects within the realm of art and the architecture since early 2002.

The broad interests of the duo are reflected in the diversity of their work which includes exhibition design, painting, video, writing, performance art and conceptual work as well as traveling around the coastline of Scotland with an old air hostess trolley full of wine.

The following pages will provide a catalogue of their work as well as a brief insight into those behind the projects

Bad news to start the year unfortunately: the Plockton Gallery is temporarily closing for a year and therefore Alburt's painting exhibiton will now no longer be happening in the summer. He is currently looking for a new venue.

Channel 4 have asked us to make a new film for their website. It will be a 5 minute short about Eilidh and her Daily Ukuele Ceilidh (see here for details)

Hole in my Pocket have a bookmark selected for the Bookmark Project 2007 at the Koffler Gallery in Toronto. The theme is Parrallax and explores the paradoxial role of the bookmark as a marker and a seperator of text. Show runs 4 -11 November. For more info visit the website.

Just been shortlisted for making some new films for Channel 4's 4Talent Scotland website. Alburt is going to a producer "training day" on Wednesday so fingers crossed his ideas for films get picked

Alburt has just been asked to show a solo exhibition at the Manse Gallery in Plockton in May 2008. The show will consist of a new collection of paintings and sculptures.

In more Seanchaidh related news, we have just been asked to show the trolley at the "Going Places" exhibition at the Riverhouse in Kent. Not sure if it will be feasible to get the trolley down there, but if we can, then the show is on over May and June.

Good news, the Seanchaidh film is being dusted off and sent out to see people agian. It will be on at the Pop-up event in Oran Mor, Glasgow, on Saturday 5th May from 6pm- 10.30pm.

Himp have been selected, along with a bunch of other arty folks, to develop a series of books for Trajectory, a new publishing house run by Something Haptic. Although we arent entirely sure what the book is to be about, they are due for release in the summer 2006.

Having moved down to London just over amonth ago, Scott is reported to be safe and happy in his new cockney surrounds. However, rumours that he has taken to wearing a pearly suit and evening renditions of 'Roll out the Barrel' are unsubstantiated.

Alburt's little film about a falconry centre in Dumfries was shown on Channel 4 on Tuesday the 15th at 19.55. For those who missed it, there is a chance to see it again on the Tuesday 22nd at 09:30 just after Frasier.

Himp's short film "The Biscuits" is now touring the UK as part of the Super Shorts film festival. The tour includes Belfast, Edinburgh, London, Glasgow, Manchester amongst many more; for specific dates and times check out the link.

Himp have been asked to design and make t-shirts for the IDEASfactory party at the V&A in London. Each T-shirt depicts Chirp the bird day dreaming of jobs he might get when he grows up. Limited edition replicas are available at our new shop.

Alburt has been selected to make a 3 Minute Film for Channel 4 for a series called Pure Passion. The film will be about a new falconry centre opening in Galloway, with a cast of hawks, owls, swallows, dogs and ferrets.

We have recieved further photos of our travelling inflatable giraffe. Believed to be somewhere in eastern france, it appears he has found love with a pretty french girl and enjoys yogurt and mtv. some giraffes have all the luck. Click here to see the images.

A selection of pieces from the Seanchaidh project are to feature in See Scotland, a mixed media group exhibition featuring works by artists who have responded to Scotland as concept and as reality. The show runs from 25 June - 30 July at the Dick Institute, Kilmarnock.

Alburt has been selected to assist in the design of exhibits for the New Shetland Museum. His area of expertise is to be the folk lore and customs section incorportating myths, lengends and storytelling to celebrate the Shetland Trow. [Nasty little creatures that live under hills.]

Earlier this week Alburt went to Channel 4 HQ to discuss making a couple of short films for the Ideas Factory Scotland website about people working in the creative industries. News came in today that he got the gig- he's said to be as happy as a small sheep called Larry.

Last month Alburt entered the Discerning Eye competition judged by Anne Robinson and Mark Lawson. His entry "break glass in case of emergency" tickled Mark's fancy and was selected for the main exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London from November 18th-28th.

We recently received this picture showing what is believed to be the inflatable Hole in my Pocket giraffe. He was last seen at the Seanchaidh opening and is thought to be somewhere in northern France at present.

After a successful last day, which included a great live performance from members of the Clydebank Burgh Band, the Seanchaidh exhibition was dismantled and transported for storage. Special thanks goes to Gav for his fine driving of a not so fine hire van.

On Saturday 22nd May a brass band will be playing live at the Intermedia Gallery. The gig, taking place between 1300-1430hrs, marks the end of the Seanchaidh exhibition. Please feel free to bring some drinks and enjoy the show.

It was a busy weekend in the gallery with over 100 people visiting the Seanchaidh exhibition during Saturday and Sunday. Pictures of the opening night are currently being collated and are due online before the end of the week.

After some frantic last minute activity, the Seanchaidh exhibition opened its doors to the general public yesterday evening. It was a great success with only minor wine spillage and limited dangerous drunken activity. Images of the night will be online soon.

Once again Alburt has triumphed in getting holeinmypocket shortlisted for a funding scheme. We have recently received word that a proposal submitted by the aforementioned h.i.m.p. workaholic has been shortlisted for the alt-w scheme. Well done that man.

Scott has finally found himself a job within the murky world of commercial architecture. He is rumoured to be settling in well to the 9-5 routine although he has been quoted as saying "i miss the late nights and late mornings" as well as "damn these door schedules".

holeinmypocket are very pleased to announce that we have secured funding from the Scottish Arts Council for the advancement of the Seanchaidh project. This work will form the basis for an exhibition at the Intermedia Gallery, Glasgow in May 2004.

We are sorry to announce that Scottish Screen contacted us today to inform us that the shortlisted Seanchaidh project had not made the final cut. One of holeinmypocket's co-founders was quoted saying "boo hoo hoo hoo". Both stamped their feet.

SA+BM win the AJ Cedric Price Memorial competition with its design for a set of rubber stamps that introduce themes of time, interval and periods of usefulness into architectural drawings. SA+BM are Scott Airlie [holeinmypocket] and Brian McGinlay.

The Seanchaidh project has been shortlisted by Scottish Screen for its "This Scotland" documentary production scheme. We have been asked to attend a one day workshop on the 22nd November followed by discussion with the final judging panel in early December.

The Seanchaidh film was played to over 200 poeple at The Chateau's mise-en-scene evening in Glasgow. A great night was had by all with a dozen diverse short films being shown plus a stunning rooftop viewing of Glasgow Green's fireworks display.

holeinmypocket are very pleased to announce that we have been asked by the Intermedia Gallery, Glasgow to present selected works in spring 2004. We are now in the process off applying for additional funding to aid with the design and manning of the exhibition.

It was announced that the Seanchaidh film piece will be shown on Thursday the 6th November 2003 at Chateau Gateaux, Glasgow. Doors open at 7pm with tickets priced at £3 each.
