14 April 2008 Its been a while since our last post. Since then we have been selected and attended the Scissor Paper Stone book fair at the London Print Studio. We had a four books for sale, all now available from our little shop. Click here for details.

28 January 2008 Bad news to start the year unfortunately: the Plockton Gallery is temporarily closing for a year and therefore Alburt's painting exhibiton will now no longer be happening in the summer. He is currently looking for a new venue.

03 December 2007 A postcard by Hole in my Pocket is one of 135 selected for a new book about designer postcards. Published by FL@33, the book will be on sale by September 2008.

10 November 2007 Channel 4 have asked us to make a new film for their website. It will be a 5 minute short about Eilidh and her Daily Ukuele Ceilidh (see here for details)

06 October 2007 Hole in my Pocket have a bookmark selected for the Bookmark Project 2007 at the Koffler Gallery in Toronto. The theme is Parrallax and explores the paradoxial role of the bookmark as a marker and a seperator of text. Show runs 4 -11 November. For more info visit the website.

16 September 2007 Just been shortlisted for making some new films for Channel 4's 4Talent Scotland website. Alburt is going to a producer "training day" on Wednesday so fingers crossed his ideas for films get picked

25 August 2007 Alburt has just been asked to show a solo exhibition at the Manse Gallery in Plockton in May 2008. The show will consist of a new collection of paintings and sculptures.

21 April 2007 Alburt has submitted two pieces for the Royal Scottish Academy open exhibiton. Fingers crossed he doesn't have to go all the way back there next week to bring them straight home.

28 March 2007 In more Seanchaidh related news, we have just been asked to show the trolley at the "Going Places" exhibition at the Riverhouse in Kent. Not sure if it will be feasible to get the trolley down there, but if we can, then the show is on over May and June.

20 March 2007 Good news, the Seanchaidh film is being dusted off and sent out to see people agian. It will be on at the Pop-up event in Oran Mor, Glasgow, on Saturday 5th May from 6pm- 10.30pm.

25 October 2006 Alburt has had a painting selected for the Lowry "One Love" exhibiton in Manchester. His painting Half Time will be on display from Sat 2 Dec 2006 - Sun 25 Mar 2007. Why not pop along and have a gander.

25 September 2006 We have a special sneak preview of alburt's storytelling machine that he's designed for the new Shetland Museum. It's almost finished and will be making the journey north very soon. Click here to enlarge the pic.

21 September 2006 Hole in my Pocket got some paper space in this weeks List magazine which was edited by The Arches. Not only did the Jane Goodie cartoon feature, they also used an image of our 2005 exhibition at The Arches. Click here to view the magazine pages.

08 September 2006 On 15 September the Arches celebrates its 15th Birthday. In honour of this the List magazine has given them control for a issue. We were asked to contribute a cartoon for one of the pages. Click here to see what burning political issue we decided to tackle.

05 September 2006 A while ago, Glasgow City Council decided that what Glasgow really needs is a great big motorway cutting off the South Side of the City. Jam74 are trying to convince them otherwise. To help them we made a couple of cartoons. Click here to view them.

13 February 2006 Weegies Rejoice! "The Biscuits" short film is coming to Glasgow. The Super Shorts touring festival is making its way to the Glasgow Media Access Centre, 34 Albion Street, on Wednesday 22nd February at 7pm. Admission is free.

20 December 2005 Himp have been selected, along with a bunch of other arty folks, to develop a series of books for Trajectory, a new publishing house run by Something Haptic. Although we arent entirely sure what the book is to be about, they are due for release in the summer 2006.

16 November 2005 Having moved down to London just over amonth ago, Scott is reported to be safe and happy in his new cockney surrounds. However, rumours that he has taken to wearing a pearly suit and evening renditions of 'Roll out the Barrel' are unsubstantiated.

16 November 2005 Alburt's little film about a falconry centre in Dumfries was shown on Channel 4 on Tuesday the 15th at 19.55. For those who missed it, there is a chance to see it again on the Tuesday 22nd at 09:30 just after Frasier.

16 November 2005 Himp's short film "The Biscuits" is now touring the UK as part of the Super Shorts film festival. The tour includes Belfast, Edinburgh, London, Glasgow, Manchester amongst many more; for specific dates and times check out the link.

15 September 2005 Himp have been asked to design and make t-shirts for the IDEASfactory party at the V&A in London. Each T-shirt depicts Chirp the bird day dreaming of jobs he might get when he grows up. Limited edition replicas are available at our new shop.

30 August 2005 Star of stage and bedroom karaoke, Scott Airlie, shall be making his cinema debut alongside seasoned pro, Alastair Aitchison, in the Alburt directed film THE BISCUITS as part of Super Shorts in London on the 7th and 8th of September. Check out the link

15 August 2005 Alburt has been selected to make a 3 Minute Film for Channel 4 for a series called Pure Passion. The film will be about a new falconry centre opening in Galloway, with a cast of hawks, owls, swallows, dogs and ferrets.

10 July 2005 We have recieved further photos of our travelling inflatable giraffe. Believed to be somewhere in eastern france, it appears he has found love with a pretty french girl and enjoys yogurt and mtv. some giraffes have all the luck. Click here to see the images.

03 July 2005 Pigeon Dave has picked the lucky winner of the Dreams Can Come True competition. Mark, who works at the Arches, wished for some 'big shoes' and 'to be invisible'. Technically thats two wishes, but Hole in my Pocket will endeavor to make his wish(es) come true.

25 June 2005 A selection of pieces from the Seanchaidh project are to feature in See Scotland, a mixed media group exhibition featuring works by artists who have responded to Scotland as concept and as reality. The show runs from 25 June - 30 July at the Dick Institute, Kilmarnock.

19 June 2005 Alburt has been selected to assist in the design of exhibits for the New Shetland Museum. His area of expertise is to be the folk lore and customs section incorportating myths, lengends and storytelling to celebrate the Shetland Trow. [Nasty little creatures that live under hills.]

25 March 2005 Earlier this week Alburt went to Channel 4 HQ to discuss making a couple of short films for the Ideas Factory Scotland website about people working in the creative industries. News came in today that he got the gig- he's said to be as happy as a small sheep called Larry.

25 March 2005 Tthe winner of the "Win a singing bear with a photo of an animal wearing clothes" competition, is Pamela Bryden from Glasgow. Congratulations to Pamela for her winning photo of her small dog wearing a super man costume. He looks very heroic.

16 March 2005 We are delighted to be included on a CD of Scottish creative type folks in next months issue of Roughcuts, the magazine for the film and tv industry.

10 March 2005 We are having a little competition to win a singing bear. It is a very unique gift and sings happy birthday Lindsay in a greek accent. To enter all you have to do is email us a picture of an animal wearing clothes. Our favourite will be selected on March the 25th.

02 March 2005 Hole in my Pocket are very pleased to announce that they will be taking part in the "See Scotland" exhibition at the Dick Institute in Kilmarnock. It opens sometime in June and is not as rude as it sounds.

10 February 2005 Alburt had his entry for the Landscape East Competition on display earlier this month in Suffolk. It will then tour to further places in the East of England.

18 December 2004 Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Alburt has penned the Hole in my Pocket Christmas Newsletter which includes info on a competition to win a singing bear! He has also updated his sketchbook in the personal pages to include a recent true life story in the alburt tradition.

14 October 2004 Hole in my Pocket were the subject of a talk in Inverness last weekend at the launch of Channel4 and the Ideas Fatory's writing scheme "Write Away". A scheme set up to encourage people to rethink travel writing.

14 October 2004 Last month Alburt entered the Discerning Eye competition judged by Anne Robinson and Mark Lawson. His entry "break glass in case of emergency" tickled Mark's fancy and was selected for the main exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London from November 18th-28th.

02 September 2004 We recently received this picture showing what is believed to be the inflatable Hole in my Pocket giraffe. He was last seen at the Seanchaidh opening and is thought to be somewhere in northern France at present.

25 May 2004 We are currently in the process of uploading images of the exhibition which will include pictures of the final day, messages left by those who visited and some short movie clips taken of the gallery.

24 May 2004 After a successful last day, which included a great live performance from members of the Clydebank Burgh Band, the Seanchaidh exhibition was dismantled and transported for storage. Special thanks goes to Gav for his fine driving of a not so fine hire van.

20 May 2004 On Saturday 22nd May a brass band will be playing live at the Intermedia Gallery. The gig, taking place between 1300-1430hrs, marks the end of the Seanchaidh exhibition. Please feel free to bring some drinks and enjoy the show.

17 May 2004 The Seanchaidh exhibition featured in yesterday's "Critics Choice" page within the Arts & Books section of the Scotland on Sunday newspaper. This, along with a feature on the Art of the Storyteller which was carried in Landscape magazine, can be seen here.

03 May 2004 It was a busy weekend in the gallery with over 100 people visiting the Seanchaidh exhibition during Saturday and Sunday. Pictures of the opening night are currently being collated and are due online before the end of the week.

01 May 2004 After some frantic last minute activity, the Seanchaidh exhibition opened its doors to the general public yesterday evening. It was a great success with only minor wine spillage and limited dangerous drunken activity. Images of the night will be online soon.

27 April 2004 BREAKING NEWS: "wee naps" have now been banned as part of Hole in my Pockets drive to get everything ready in time for fridays opening. Donations of ProPlus and black coffee, direct to the Intermedia gallery, are welcomed.

09 March 2004 Once again Alburt has triumphed in getting holeinmypocket shortlisted for a funding scheme. We have recently received word that a proposal submitted by the aforementioned h.i.m.p. workaholic has been shortlisted for the alt-w scheme. Well done that man.

02 February 2004 Scott has finally found himself a job within the murky world of commercial architecture. He is rumoured to be settling in well to the 9-5 routine although he has been quoted as saying "i miss the late nights and late mornings" as well as "damn these door schedules".

17 December 2003 holeinmypocket are very pleased to announce that we have secured funding from the Scottish Arts Council for the advancement of the Seanchaidh project. This work will form the basis for an exhibition at the Intermedia Gallery, Glasgow in May 2004.

16 November 2003 We are sorry to announce that Scottish Screen contacted us today to inform us that the shortlisted Seanchaidh project had not made the final cut. One of holeinmypocket's co-founders was quoted saying "boo hoo hoo hoo". Both stamped their feet.

27 November 2003 SA+BM win the AJ Cedric Price Memorial competition with its design for a set of rubber stamps that introduce themes of time, interval and periods of usefulness into architectural drawings. SA+BM are Scott Airlie [holeinmypocket] and Brian McGinlay.

11 November 2003 The Seanchaidh project has been shortlisted by Scottish Screen for its "This Scotland" documentary production scheme. We have been asked to attend a one day workshop on the 22nd November followed by discussion with the final judging panel in early December.

06 November 2003 The Seanchaidh film was played to over 200 poeple at The Chateau's mise-en-scene evening in Glasgow. A great night was had by all with a dozen diverse short films being shown plus a stunning rooftop viewing of Glasgow Green's fireworks display.

23 October 2003 holeinmypocket are very pleased to announce that we have been asked by the Intermedia Gallery, Glasgow to present selected works in spring 2004. We are now in the process off applying for additional funding to aid with the design and manning of the exhibition.

19 October 2003 It was announced that the Seanchaidh film piece will be shown on Thursday the 6th November 2003 at Chateau Gateaux, Glasgow. Doors open at 7pm with tickets priced at £3 each.
